Hello again everyone! This past week was the ninth week of my internship. It was less involved than usual, but this coming week should be back to normal. My mentor and I were unable to meet this week on Monday like we usually do. I continued to record listings into our database. This still consists of searching for turtles for sale, then recording the information on the location, type of turtle, platform used, etc. I expect to start my paper about the data that my fellow intern and I have collected so far soon.

Tomorrow, I will be able to talk to my mentor over Zoom, which will help me clear up any questions that I have about writing it. I am likely to focus on discussing the states that are home to the most listings, as well as the most common species of turtles being sold. Because we only have collected about two months worth of data at this point, it would be more difficult to take the other aspects of the listings into consideration. I think the species and location of sales will be the most worthwhile types of data to write about. As the data continues to be collected, it will be interesting to see other trends develop.

Outside of my internship, I spent time with my friends and family. My family and I went on a hike this weekend. I also completed my lifeguarding classes and will begin working. I also took care of my own animals and plants, which keep me busy!
