Monday – Thursday: These were the final days of my internship with Mines. This internship has gone by so fast. At the beginning of the week we met up with Noah. We didn’t have any assignments, since we finished preparing and presenting for the ICCOSE conference. The only thing I had to do was present in front of the whole group on Tuesday. This presentation went way better and smoother than my previous presentation to the group. I had gone through my code again, and I showed my pie chart code. I went through my mistakes and how I had solved the problem. Besides that, all I had done that week was download my code and send it to Noah.

Friday: Today was officially the final day. We had our last meeting with the whole group. In order to prepare for the meeting, we had a set of odd things to do. We had to dress up as one of our favorite characters from any platform. Of course, I chose Moana. I already had the costume from Halloween, so why not use it.

(ignore my focused face)

Next, we had to bring one of our oddest things in our house. I brought a wooden chicken that sits on our cabinet ledge. It has little legs attached by twine. At the meeting, everyone guessed my costume right away. I think that my hair helps a lot. Everyone had someone from a tv show for their character. After us discussing and playing I-spy, it was time for us to talk about our odd items. For our odd items, we decided that we will describe our object, and people can say whether you were lying, or telling the truth about their object. I personally didn’t lie, because I really stink at lying. But, about half of the group thought that I was! So I guess my object was pretty odd. A lot of the groups objects were very weird. One person had a chicken wheelchair! Another had a tin toad, which was growing life on it. After that game, it was time to say our goodbyes. After our goodbyes, Noah, Indie, and I hopped into a separate room to say our goodbyes. We just thanked each other for our patience, helpfulness, and kindness.  It’s crazy how complete strangers can become friends in a short period of time.

A huge thanks to the Pinhead Institute and the Colorado School of Mines for giving me this opportunity to learn. After this internship, I have decided that I do want to go into Environmental Engineering. Thank you again.
