Clara Carrasco is my name. And learning about Boulder is my game! Caroline Graham and I are interning for Andrew Dahir. He has given us personal tours of CU Boulder’s main campus, and of LASP.

We chose our projects recently after unpacking and setting up our lab. Currently there are two CubeSats: Maxwell and CuE3. They need sensor testing and a trip to the vacuum chamber. Caroline will be working on an Arduino for sensor testing. I will be designing/building the thermal vacuum chamber mounting plate for the Maxwell CubeSat. We both also get to receive shop training and make a screwdriver!

This is Ralphie the Buffalo (she is a gal).

The Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) is older than NASA.

In relation to the city of Boulder we have explored the farmers market and street performers! The residents here are super friendly (especially our host family). Jean and Eben are wise and athletic. They put us to shame! They’re the ones who advice us on places to go too. They have two little firecrackers as children. The legendary backstroke bros: Shae and Quinn!

Pictured here is the farmers market. They currently have cherries from Paonia.

We are grateful to Pinhead for giving us this opportunity. We have seen so much and made many stories. It’s weird to think the first week has barely passed.
