Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics

Jacob Nelson Pintern PHOTOHi, my name is Jacob Nelson. I go to Telluride High School. This summer, I will be interning with University of Colorado at Boulder and studying mechanical engineering. This week, I arrived in Boulder, CO with Everett and Warren to study CubSats (small satellites). The first day was really just a lot of tours, and getting to know all the facilities. Our mentor, Andrew, is very busy because his deadline is coming up fast, and after testing the CUB30 (their CubeSat), they realized that they still had a lot of problems they didn’t know of. So the majority of this week consisted of thermal vacuum testing the CUB30, which is very cool to watch. So far all the testing we have done has been at a really cool lab names LASP, which stands for the Laboratory of Atmospheric and Space Physics.
