Everett Morton Pintern PHOTOHi, my name is Everett Morton and I go to Telluride High School. I will be interning at the University of Colorado at Boulder studying Aeronautical Engineering.

This week I was assigned my project for my internship. My mentor, Andrew, assigned me to find a reliable method of estimating the state of charge of the batteries on the cube sats. My project is to create an equation that will be the estimator for the batteries. This is very critical because we need to be able to know if the satellite will be functional with the amount of sunlight that is being taken in. We also got to see the cube sat put into the thermal vacuum chamber, which simulates the settings of space. It tests the extreme high and low temperatures that are expected to be seen in space.
