This week was very informative. I learned a lot, like how to read a Coronary angiogram. This is where a catheter is inserted into a major artery and threaded through the vessels to the heart. A dye is inserted and x-ray machines can see the flow of the heart. I was able to see a normal angiogram on a non-blocked heart and a blocked heart and detect the blockage. I met the woman at the top of the heart surgery transplant list. I listened to a man’s chest who didn’t have a heart instead he had a machine pumping his blood. You could hear the machine wiring and pushing the blood around inside his chest. I was able to see a craniotomy where they left a part of the brain just covered by the skin so it had room to swell preventing further brain damage. I learned so much this week, Outside of my internship, I went to the beach and explored Israel!
