Hi again, my name is Amelie Sante and I am doing a virtual internship with Emblematic group. For a quick recap, Emblematic group is a digital media company focused on immersive virtual, mixed and augmented reality. I have now finished the second week of my internship where I have continued to get closer with the team, the other interns, and have learned a lot more about different virtual reality platforms.
Starting off my second week, I met with two other interns and an Emblematic group member. We continued to discuss future work and research that could be done for an upcoming VR film about a historical figure. Much of this project is still not public knowledge, so there is some information that I won’t be able to share. For this project I have been using a platform called REACH. This program is a no-code WebXR platform that’s goal is to motivate anyone to create AR and VR stories. REACH allows you to create almost any scene and scenery you can think of and has been a lot of fun to learn. Along with REACH, I have also been using other programs such as Maximo and Blender. Maximo brings your projects to life with 3D characters, skeletal rigs, and animations, it can be used in film, games, interactive experiences and illustration. Blender is an open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. Learning how to use these different platforms has taught me a lot about the world of animation and creating VR scenes.

Since my internship is virtual, I have also been able to enjoy my summer in my home town of Telluride. I have continued to play with my soccer team where we are preparing for our semifinal game. In the weeks to follow, I will continue working on the upcoming VR film with the Emblematic team and the other interns.
