Hello! This week I continued to learn about PyQt, a module in Python that makes it possible to create graphical user interfaces. I had already made a username and password application, but I still have more to add to it. One main feature I made this week was a button that would quit the application when pressed. This proved to be a bit more complicated than it seems as I had to send a signal from a window in my application to the actual application in order to quit. Also, after a request from David, I started to change the layout while trying to maintain the same look. In addition to this, we were given a presentation on web. I’m still a little confused about it, but because web involves a couple of coding languages which I am already familiar with from school (Javascript and HTML), I’m hoping that it shouldn’t be too difficult to catch back up.

Apart from coding, I finished up my presentation and presented it to the class on Friday. It was on the history of digital music production, modern applications, and the future of the industry. I really liked my topic because it allowed me to combine a passion of mine (music production) with some of the computer science topics related to the internship.

Aside from the internship, I kept practicing soccer and on Saturday, I went to Telluride to help volunteer for the Pinhead Science of Cocketails event. Overall it was a pretty uneventful week, but I made a solid amount of progress.
