Howdy everyone! This week was probably one of my most productive so far, even though it was cut short by a long weekend in observance of the 4th. This week was centered around a collaborative assignment to create a calculator. Each one of us was assigned a button to implement, then we were to merge it to the existing code and make it available to everyone else in the group via git. I think I’m slowly becoming more comfortable in git, and it was a nice break to get to work in python again! We also got introduced to our next “unit”, graphics, which is the main requirement of our final project, or the “Dummy Project” as it is so affectionately named. These last few weeks have presented some unique things in my personal life that made it feel like I was really falling behind, but this last week reminded me that I’m doing just fine.

Outside of work, I had a fantastic, socially distanced 4th. My family and I drove up to Lake City to eat a picnic lunch that I had made, do some driving, and go on a few short hikes. We also got some amazing ice cream from a retro soda fountain. This year also happened to be the first year that I could buy fireworks, so I got to have some fun with fire. Who doesn’t love that?

Honey mustard and raspberry preserve sandwiches!
