This week was great, I started coding on my project and got a ton done. Monday was almost entirely devoted to my Non-GUI element in my project, which is a maze generation algorithm. The specifics of how the algorithm works are far too complicated to write in a blog but it is super interesting stuff, here’s a link to a wikipedia page on it for the avid readers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maze_generation_algorithm it is called a Recursive Backtracking algorithm and is on that wiki page). The coding for the algorithm was surprisingly fast and I completed it in around 7 hours. Tuesday I started to make the game display, this work continued until mid-day Friday and all together took about 19 hours. The game looks super good and even though the controls are kinda clunky it is playable at this point. I forgot to take a picture but I will have one for next week. The game generates a random maze then has two players in a race to the center. This sounds pretty simple but coding it was quite complicated. I used the graphics module PyGame which was pretty handy but also strange because I had only used a it a few times before. Friday afternoon I worked on the graphics window that will hold the game, which was slow going but I got a few menus up on the screen.

Outside of work I was playing soccer all week long, with my work I get a Buff-One card which gives me access to the CU gym and rec center, this has been awesome because there is indoor soccer, a pool, and a gym along with so much other stuff. I spend more time there than at home now, on Saturday I went for almost five hours playing soccer and going to the gym. It is fun to meet new people playing pickup soccer and I have made a ton of cool friends.

My picture this week (sorry a little light on the pictures I forgot) is of the CU indoor soccer turf where I have spent every afternoon this week, the whole facility is so nice I could live there. It even has little pods for napping if you get tired, on the to-do list for sure.
