This week at the Marine Science Center here on Tybee was very exciting!!! I got to teach some of the modules to the kids at the sea camp!! I did it mostly without the help of the other educators, except for a few times when I would look to one of them for help.

I got to work downstairs with the animals more, and every time I’m down there I learn more about the fish of the island and what they are. I got to take care of the corn snake we have at work and I came home to another garden snake in my host families yard! They were worried about it being dangerous but because of my day at work I was confident it was just a garden snake! That was exciting to be able to use my knowledge from work at home too!

I also got to go to the Skidaway institute of Oceanography during the week which I learned about all of the different types of marine science departments there was. I got to see some of the different research projects that they had going from students at Georgia university. They did not allow high school interns for the Institue but I got a message a couple days ago saying that because of my visit it opened their eyes to why they should allow for high school interns!!!

On my weekend I went to Fort Pulaski which Is a national monument right on the edge of Tybee. I got to witness how they did the canon firings when the fort was accurate! I also had my first fresh figs!! They are very good I recommend them.
