Hello Everyone!

This week I spent all week working in the clinic at the Medical Faculty Associates building. I had the opportunity to work with cardiology and internal medicine. I got to shadow the attendees during their appointments and speak to the staff in the clinic about their careers. I had the opportunity to view stress tests for cardio patients and watch the staff facilitate echocardiograms. It was the most interesting for me to discuss why the staff chose to pursue medicine and the impacts of feeling emotionally invested in their patients. During my lunch periods, I sat in on lectures at the George Washington hospital auditorium.

In the evenings, I ate dinner with my host family and spent time watching movies and hanging out with my host siblings. After work, I also spent time exploring Washington D.C. and stopped by the white house. This weekend I had work off for the holiday so I took the long weekend to visit my sister and her family in Boston. It has been lovely to see them.
