Here is the compact satellite with internal components. The solar panels and feed horn are both folded up to make it more compact.

Week five mechanical engineering, at CU Boulder. This week I was finishing up all the internal components of my model of the Maxwell satellite. This included making models of the the rods that go in and keep the earth pointed in the right direction. The science instrument must be pointed at a certain point on the earth, and these rods pick up off the magnetic field of the earth, to keep it pointe in the right direction. Also there are three disks that are all positioned and spinning. The momentum that they create together, keep the satellite from spinning, they also help make it stable. I also had to model the antenna that would be used to communicate with the ground. I modeled the XBand radio, which uses the antenna to talk. With all of these things finished my model of the Maxwell satellite is complete, and my mentor Andrew took it with him to the small satellite conference for inspection.
