24101702220_83583c0291_bMy final week working at the DNC was very mellow despite the convention happening in parallel. It consisted of doing some more data mining for the college organizers and touching up the concert list.

However, a majority of my time was spent listening to the Democratic National Convention. It was hard having the various departments playing the same video only moments off from each other. An irritating echo resonated throughout the office, but the message remained clear: we have to unite. Like the five stages of grief, it took me a while to come to accept this idea. My inner Berning was strong, but I realized something really valuable, it’s not always about me it’s about what’s going to beneficial for our country, and a Donald Trump election is not going to be beneficial by any means. By the very end of my internship and the convention I was completely sold on Hillary, she is no Bernie, but she has strong morals and a resume to back them up and I’m going to be proud to call her Madame President.

Overall my time working at the DNC was immensely valuable because I learned of all the efforts that are put into running a campaign and the greater goal at hand. From the deputy organizers working in HQ to the volunteers who take precious time out of their day to come knock on doors. Every step matters and everyone really makes a difference.

Thank You, Gregorio Osha
