This week has flown by! It’s crazy to think that my internship is almost over. Tomorrow morning at 6 am I am heading on a 4 day camping trip to the Chanel Islands with Bob and his undergraduate class. I’m really looking forward to going because multiple people from my lab and my dorm have told me it is one of the most beautiful places in Southern California. The past couple of days we have been prepping for the trip, finding snorkeling gear and getting in teams for cooking dinner each night.
This week I also had the chance to do some fun things outside of the lab. On wednesday night Danielle (the other Pinhead Intern in Santa Barbara) met up and headed down to State Street. We walked around some shops then decided to eat dinner at a really yummy sushi place. Afterwards we also went and walked down the pier which was gorgeous since the sun was just setting.
My roommate also took me to go paddle boarding in the afternoon. I’ve only paddle boarded on lakes and rivers before so doing it in the ocean was a bit of a challenge but it was super fun!
I’ll have tons more to post about after the Island trip and lots of pictures as well!
