This week was very exciting for me in the machine shop. The highlight of the week was when we used the rocket motor test bed and I got to help build the combustion chamber.

It was extremely cool and created roughly 4o pounds of thrust for 10 seconds, which was a very successful burn.

Additionally, I began learning how to use the Haas CNC Lathe, which will better allow me to create my yoyo successfully, but it will be a long process, as it is a very complex machine, with lots of things to learn.

Finally, I also was able to learn how to use the engine lathe, a much larger, WW2 era lathe that can be used for much larger pieces and more difficult materials, such as the stainless steel I will be using in my yoyo.

For fun this week, my dad was able to come out for the weekend, and we went biking and played some disc golf, which was a lot of fun. I am really enjoying my internship and I am learning a ton!
