Hope you all are well! I’ve kept y’all waiting for long enough! Week 5 was my last week in Kentucky however I will be continuing my work into the school year with my professor. In terms of my project, without doing an official analysis we’ve come to the conclusion that my original hypothesis about the necessity in using non-bar training in spinal cord injury patients was not correct or incorrect. We proved the null hypothesis as correct, so far… that being said we definitely ran into a few issues that may have effected our results such as those who are paralyzed may not be able to stand without a bar and or assistance so instead of giving us a muscle activation response our sensors would pickup no movement since the patient had fallen or the dats was simply unusable which meant less usable data for the hands off/ bar-less category. If we were to compare the dat using the same amount of dats for both sides of the experiment we may have a different outcome however we have yet to see this as we haven’t started our full data analysis yet. We also had individuals with different injuries with different effects on each muscle group and since part of our initial question singled out each muscle group that may have effected or will effect our results on the near future.

On Wednesday I was invited to go to a symposium in which guest speakers came a spoke to us mostly about how spinal cord injury patients can loose weight effectively as well as different tactics that work well for able bodied individuals and as a teenage girl one cold imagine this topic definitely sparked my interest.

Other than work since it was my last week it was time to hit the bucket list hard!!! First stop crumble cookies since we don’t have one in New York, we has pineapple upside down cake, sea salt toffee, sugar shark and macadamia nut and a classic chocolate chip. They were all delicious!!!

Another stop was at the local pool around the corner, where the high dive is located and one of the children in the family that I was staying with “held me hostage” on the high dive until I dove off head first from twelve feet up. It was quite the rush but it was crossed of the list.

The last stop was the grave yard for Muhammad Ali and Colonel Sanders of KFC

Then back to NYC!!!
