I started this week without much to do other than my workshop, where i learned to work with machinery to make something out of metal. The workshop was completely paid for by LASP and it was very fun. I have work is shops with heavy-duty tools to cut wood before, but never metal. The first thing we did was learn about safety. By the end I was able to use any of the machines in the shop with confidence. In the shop class, Graham and I made a top that you can spin on a flat surface, and a phone holder so that you can prop your phone up for a movie without holding it. Overall the class was very much fun and it will help me later in life, so it was a very valuable class.

Other than the class, Graham and I received the nozzle for the 3d printer. We were able to print out a perfect test cube to make sure the printer was working, which is good news. We thought we had completely fixed the printer, but it seems that the cube was some luck since we couldn’t replicate it again. On Friday, I believed I had fixed the clog in the 3d printer head, but I ran out of time so I will have to test it this upcoming Monday.

Outside of work, I was able to visit my family at my grandparents cabin in South Fork, Colorado. The visit was great seeing my family and we were able to go rock climbing and paddle board at the nearby lake.
