Hi im Karis Varner and I have been interning at scripps neuroscience center in San Diego. This week i have done mouse perfusions with a large sryine this time instead of a pump and afterwards took the spine out of the mouse to find the Dorsal Root Ganglia which is right next to the spinal cord and later that week I also got to watch brain samples being electrified. We got our lab coats this week on friday and these coats are really nice and a good way to remember this internship but I doubt i would ever forget it in the first place. Thursday we had a pleasant little cocktail party for a recently publish paper done by someone in the lab. this week I also struggle with the vibraphone, my brain samples were a mess one brain being cut way to small and the other just being in the wrong angle, it’s a learning process I know but you still cant help feel really bad like you just broke something that was really important . as this week passes i get a little bit sadder that my internship is ending I love it so much and if you have the opportunity to get this go for. it’s a short blog this week more this weekend with both Canyon and Olivia, my roommates we all went to Birch aquarium and then later to la jolla beach for lunch and just relaxing time on the beach.
