Hey, I’m Owen Doyle and I’m interning at an architectural engineering firm called ME&E in Durango Colorado. This week was filled with a lot of studying. I developed a more complex understanding of the electrical systems in buildings through field visits and the help of my mentor. We looked at grounding, voltage, watts, resistance, and much more. I understand a lot more about the flow of electricity and why people need to be so precautionary around it. I did more drafting of existing conditions and replaced things in previous designs. We then took a visit to a building in Farmington with lots of electrical equipment to calculate the load totally needed in the new building to support the existing and new equipment coming in.
