Hi All,

I am currently working with Dr. Petruska in his robotics lab at Mines

First off, I’d like to say thanks to everyone who has helped me get this opportunity; the Turners, Sarah, Pinhead, my parents and step-parents, Dr. Petruska, and more. This is an amazing opportunity, especially for a high schooler.

This week, I worked the first half of the week, and then took Thursday and Friday off to go home and see family. While I was at work, there was not much for me to do on either of my projects, but I managed to keep busy. I discussed with Petruska and another professor, Dr. Eliasson, on working on a second project in the explosives lab. I also got the parts ordered to mount the LiDAR cameras to the Jackal robots, and while I waited for the parts to arrive, I worked more on learning Python and Solidworks.

Outside of work, I have kept busy as well. I went for a run around N Table Mountain, and went for a bike ride at Green Mountain over the weekend. On Thursday, I got the chance to go to the Avs parade downtown, and saw Landeskog and O’Connor walk right in front of me. On Friday, I drove home for the holiday weekend. I stayed Friday night at a friend’s in Telluride, then rode the bike park on Saturday. The drive home was long and quite unpleasant, but I saw lots of great views along I-70 passing through the mountains.

Otherwise, this week has been quite uneventful, so apologies for the brevity of my blog this week. Hopefully the next two weeks will prove to be more interesting.

Next, the pictures. Because of my boring work week this week, I didn’t include any work-related photos First is a picture of the Stanley Cup being carried through downtown by MaKarr. Then, a picture of Landeskog carrying the Swedish flag. Next, the police escort for the parade. Finally is a photo from the bike park, a photo from a run, and a photo of Remi.
