Hello, my name is Sammi. I am an intern at the Tybee Island Marine Science Center, in Savannah Georgia. I am learning about the marine life that is around the Tybee Island.

This is my second week here in Georgia. It has been going really well. On Wednesday I went to work and I got to make food for the box turtles. There is mixed berries, mixed vegetables, patte dog food, meal worms, and calcium powder. I also got to hold Mazie the corn snake. I was a little bit uncomfortable holding her but I got used to very quickly. We, as in a coworker of mine, Jenna, took the baby diamondback terrapins, the corn snake, the adult diamondback terrapin, and the loggerhead sea turtle outside to feed them and let them have sunlight for about 30 minutes.

On Monday, Zelda and Sheldon, my hosts, took me to a restaurant called Current. I had a fish dinner. The fish was a flounder. It was a big fish. It tasted good though.

On Saturday, another intern flew in. Her name is Sarah. We bonded pretty fast and when we were talking about our families, we found out that we both have little sisters and their names starts with an A. We are the oldest daughters and our names started with an S. We both thought that was really cool.

This was a good week in Tybee Georgia and it’s going by really fast.
