Hello everyone! My internship is certainly progressing well, as evidenced by the fact that I have officially moved on to the next stage of the project: researching individuals with direct ties to the the sugar beet industry in Western Colorado. This is the most exciting things have gotten yet, and I’m currently doing research into a number of individuals and organizations in our beautiful region who may be able to assist me in my ongoing search for an Oral History candidate. Please feel free to add suggestions in the comments, or to email me at zachary.vincent@mhslead.org with any ideas! This Saturday was also the day of the annual Pinhead Science of Cocktails (SOC) event, which I attended in a volunteer capacity. The event was a great success, due to the presence of many wonderful supporters, and I enjoyed wearing a lab coat the entire day!

The Amazing Sugar Beet!

In my personal life this week, I went hiking with my closest friends in Telluride at Bridal Veil Falls! It likely would have been even more fun if we hadn’t had to cut our hike short due to the rain, but I’m not complaining since the views from the falls were excellent and I happen to love the rain!
