Hello! This week we were introduced to the C programming language which has proved to be very difficult for me. Thus far, I had exclusively been coding in Python which is much easier than C. On Monday, another instructor, Hutch, gave us a presentation on the language and our first assignments. In the beginning, I was completely lost, but thanks to hours of tutorials and a lot of Hutch’s help, I was able to complete a few basic assignments and start to have a grasp on the language.

Apart from learning C, I worked on a multi-processing assignment in Python. This had stumped me for days, but after a short Zoom meeting with David, I was back on track and made some real progress. Focusing exclusively on programming for eight hours a day has proved to be stressful, but very effective. Even though I’m only four weeks in, when I look back on week one it’s apparent that I’ve already learned a ton.

Pick up soccer started this week which was a fun time and I’m already looking forward to the fall soccer season.
