As the final week in Boulder, Colorado, Caroline and I made sure to get our businesses in order. We finished our projects and created separate presentations. I created the drawing of my interface plate in SOLIDWORKS, so the shop can machine it while I’m absent. Caroline and I presented to three people. Two graduate students and Andrew Dahir. They gave us pointers and specified where we need to explain more. They also asked questions that led to side discussion on our projects! This was great practice for our upcoming presentations to upcoming Pinterns!

This is the drawing for the Maxwell Interface Plate. There are two additional sheets, with other specifications.

The last restaurant Caroline and I ate at was IHOP. We also made sure to visit a nearby park for the first and last time. Each day this week, we wistfully looked at our surroundings, aware we would leave soon. Besides memorizing Boulder, we went to Pearl Street once more. We went into Rocket Fizz and bought our family some candy. We entered Into the Wind and looked at some trinkets. We went to Ku Cha for our final taste of tea. We sat and marveled the beautiful flowers in front of the Boulder Public Library.

One of the gorgeous sunsets I witnessed.

Caroline and I were excited to get home. We are homesick teenagers after all. However, we will miss our second family on top of 19th Street hill. We will feel nostalgia when we look at the San Juan’s, remembering the peaks in Boulder. Gazing at the Uncompahgre River, we’ll remember Boulder Creek. Yes we are happy to go home, but it’s a bittersweet feeling. We are so thankful for this experience, and all the good that will result of it.

This was taken on our last day at the lab.
