It’s hard to believe that six weeks have already passed!

This week was another interesting week. I spent most of it working on the Folsom dam model, doing the same things as last week.

We were measuring different flow rates through the bulkhead gate and how much pressure came from each different flow rate. To reiterate, from last week this testing is for when the dam has an emergency situation and the gates need to be closed, the engineers need to know whether the gate can withstand the pressure.

I spent one day this week helping my aunt and uncle move into their new home in Denver. It was really fun to catch up and help them get settled.

This internship was an amazing opportunity and I can’t thank Pinhead and the Bureau of Reclamation enough. It was one of the most interesting things I have ever done and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering.
