Hi everybody! Week three has been great, our mentor, Andrew, is back and I’ve started working on testing the gyroscopes with the Arduino. I also learned how to solder when I soldered the pins onto the Adafruit breakout board. We took a tour of Bio-Serve, which is a nonprofit, research organization on the third floor of our building that investigates the effect of microgravity and space on living organisms. We also attended a workshop on making solar panels, which was very interesting.

Outside of the lab, Clara and I have spent more time on pearl street and the surrounding area. We swam in Boulder Creek, which was super cold, and still get tea pretty much every day. We’ve moved from the Coulter-Clark’s home to our new host house with Carol, Frank, and their daughter Mallory, and are incredibly grateful for the generosity and hospitality of both of our host families so far.
