Monday I worked primarily on beginning my methods and procedures portion for the paperthat will hopefully be published by the end of the eighteen month experiment. I also finished placing the coral nubbins in the rack for the flow experiment. This was by far my favorite part of the entire process because I got to see it all set up and ready for data collection. I also took apart an old coral stand contraption and unscrewed all the nuts and bolts which took three hours. I took the last of the coral nubbin measurements on Thursday and was glad to track the growth process. I was given Friday off and was able to go scuba diving at a WWII Corsair plane wreck. After that I went to the Kailua beach with Casey and spent my last full day in the sun. Later, we got acai bowls and ventured back to Coconut where we enjoyed frozen pizza and worked on a puzzle. Saturday I went to a swap meet at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu and purchased a few gifts. The swap meet is an amazing experience that I would highly suggest if you are ever in Honolulu. All the local vendors come and set up their tents, completely circling the stadium. After the swap meet, we went to Pearl Harbor and I was able to see all the memorials which was such an absolutely amazing encounter. I was able to accomplish all the last minute excursions/activities that I had wanted to partake in before being dropped off at the Honolulu airport at 9pm and flying home to Denver! I am so fortunate for this entire experience and the knowledge I gained. So thank you for everyone who made it possible, Aloha.
