This is my 3rd week in my project at UCSD. In this week, we been preparing samples of graphene. The process to get ready a sample of graphene to be tested is a little long because it needs to be submerged in acetone a couple hours and then be in the oven for another two or three hours. The mentor told us that it was better to make a log of the whole process, so we would not forget the steps and do the process well.

We prepared some samples and went to another laboratory to test the electrical resistance and capacitance.

Graphene samples.

some of the samples we prepared did not go as expected, the resistance of some was low, but others were very good. this also depended on the oxide that was with the graphene. We also measure some silicon samples through pictures. with an app in the computer that allowed us to expand and cut the part of the area we wanted to know, but we also had to put a rule to have that as a reference. The process is entertaining, but it is interesting.

Resistivity results.

Silicon samples.

This is in what I been working this week, and in the weekend, we went to the Midway Museum. I am really happy to be here enjoying this amazing experience.
