Oh man, it’s been six weeks? Time goes by too quickly, I feel like it’s week three, Oh well.

This week has been great. I started it off by going with Brian to the top of Vatnskot on the spine of Hegrane, where we dug in a bog in our continuing search for the perfect tephra sequence, while digging we were quickly surrounded by horses, that we had to chase off because they were eating our bags.

On Tuesday I joined Brian again at the bog. On Wednesday I went to one of Kathleen’s sites where I helped put in the last few cores. On Thursday I drove around with Dr. Steinberg finishing up most of the sites for the year. By Friday I went rafting, that was John’s treat for the whole crew, and was absolutely amazing. Rafting in Iceland is extremely fun and beautiful. There are few things I have had more fun doing! Saturday I helped the team partially get packed and cleaned the warehouses we were staying in. Sunday helped move some crates, got packed, and drove down to Reykjavik with Brian because we both had early flights on Monday.

My last day in Iceland I woke up at 4 am and boarded my flight to the U.K.. My time in Iceland was amazing I loved every moment, even when I was soaking wet, half in a bog, being tortured by the arctic wind.

Thank you Pinhead for the best internship possible!!!
