Week 6- Jess

Wow. I cannot believe that my internship went by that fast. I was just having such a good time and learning so much I did not want to leave. It felt like I just got there, and with a flash I was going home.

My last week at the science center was slow, the summer season was coming to an end and traffic through the center was less everyday. I spent the last week not doing much, which gave me a lot more time to talk with my coworkers about their interest in marine biology. I even had them over to my house so we could go paddle boarding and kayaking.

The night before I left I was so lucky to meet up with previous Pinhead executive director, Sonchia. It was so great to see her. We had dinner and talked a lot about my internship. What a coincidence that we would both end up in Savannah.

After changing my flight home 3 times do to weather related issues, I boarded my plane and felt a bittersweet rush of emotions. I was so lucky to meet so many kind people during my six weeks there. It seemed like almost everyone I met there had a relation back to Telluride, which made me feel so at home there. Everyone I met were extremely kind.

My summer was beyond amazing. I am very lucky to have such an opportunity like this coming form such a small town.  I learned more than what I ever imagined. I wish I could go back, but I am so grateful and would like to thank everyone who contributed to my summer. I would never be able to do an internship like this without the help everyone gave me. What a great experience.
