The LASP sign outside the building

I am doing my Pinhead Internship at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder. This week was mostly me getting used to my surroundings and figuring out how things work in Boulder. The most difficult thing was getting used to taking a city transit system to get to work everyday.

The first day my mentor, Dale Theiling, gave me a tour of the facility and told

me about LASP’s history. The rest of the week I was put to work analyzing data transfer rates between the IUVS (Imaging Ultra-Violet Spectrograph) and the spacecraft it is mounted on, MAVEN, in orbit around Mars. I can’t go into detail about how the spacecraft and instrumentation work.

Attached are pictures of the LASP sign outside the building, and my desk, where I worked on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, in the Mission Operations section of the building.

    Tomaz,

Is there a Mars rover website I can log onto for live streaming of the rover’s findings?

How long will it take for the spacecraft that is currently being engineered to reach Mars? How will human life be sustained on Mars.
