Hey everybody! My last week here at EGI in Salt Lake City has been super eventful and interesting. This week in my lab I spent time converting the values I collected from near the Uinta basin from the standard permeameter values to actual permeability value that we can use now. My mentor, Ting, also showed me and the other Intern how we can do the Darcy’s law experiment, which involves a tube full of the broken down sandstone we want to find the permeability for having water flowed through it. Throughout the week I also got work done on the final project, but after meeting with the other intern and Ting we decided that since the other intern has 2 more weeks at EGI we would submit our final product when he is finished with his internship.

During my free time over my last week of my internship I hiked to desolation lake which was super pretty and really fun. I was able to leave super early on Thursday morning, taking the California zephyr train to grand junction and then a bus back to telluride for a night before taking a plane to Wisconsin to meet with my family and end my travels. I am extremely thankful for pinhead institute for making this internship happen and feel I learned quite a bit while also experiencing what living on my own is like.
