Firstly, I would like to thank everyone who tuned in and read my blogs each week. This will be my last blog, as my internship at the Wu Lab has come to an end. This week in the lab, I spent most of my time preparing for a presentation I had on Thursday. We were supposed to present our findings on telomeres to the lab. For most of the week, I was coding for data analysis, and once I finally had some graphs, I quickly put together slides for my presentation. My research question was whether telomeres localize to heterochromatin and euchromatin zones.

In the end, I found that they tend to prefer heterochromatin zones, but you would need to look more deeply and do further imaging and analysis to know for sure. I didn’t get to do much outside the lab this week because I had a Saturday morning flight home. It was really sad to leave Boston. It’s a great city, and I’ve had such a good time exploring it over these past six weeks. While it’s nice to be home and see some friends, it was still hard to leave.

It was also very sad to leave the lab because everyone was so kind and supportive. My mentors were amazing, and they made it especially difficult to say goodbye. Everyone in the lab was sad to see us go, and I was just sad that my internship had come to an end.

Boston’s great, the Wu Lab is great, everything about this experience was great, and I’m incredibly thankful that I got this opportunity.
