Hey everybody! I’m Ben and this was my fourth week here at OAIRE at OSU. This week was different, but in a good way. It started out normal, with Monday being filled with continuing to learn how to use the foam cutter. Myself and another intern were tasked with designing and cutting a fuselage for a plane that we are building. The first couple pieces we cut were great, but towards the end of the day we had some trouble with the nose and tail of the plane. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday the high school interns and a few college interns took a class on how to be certified commercial drone pilots for small UAV (unmanned arial vehicles). This class was really fun and I learned a lot. I will need to schedule and take the test on my own time, but that’s okay. Then on Thursday we were given the day off, because there really wasn’t anything for us to do that would only take one day. Friday was of course, the fourth of July, but I didn’t go watch fireworks. I don’t know why, I just didn’t feel like it. That was my week! It was fun, but unfortunately a little shorter than I was expecting. See you all next week!
Side note: I do not have any new pictures, because I forgot to take pictures of the plane we were building on Monday, and then the rest of the week I was at a completely different building on campus. Imagine a foam cylinder, and you’d have a pretty good idea of what the fuselage looks like. I will have pictures next week.
