Hello! My name is Maiya Wagner, I’m a junior at Montrose High School in Montrose, Colorado. This 2025 summer I will be interning through the Pinhead Institute. I am so excited for this internship because it will help me have real-world experience that I will be able to use in the future, and possibly even find a STEM career that I will love. The last few years I have been more interested in chemistry, and even before this, I have loved learning about anything that has to do with how the world works since I was a little kid. I love challenging myself with new ways of thinking and understanding everything I can. Outside of school and science, I love the outdoors, and am always ready to go hiking or fishing. If it’s cold, I love skiing in the mountains, or staying inside to bake or read. The first photo is from a time I was rafting with my dad, and the second is from the top of the Blue Lakes trail near Ridgway, Colorado.
