21 Jun Judah Marty, Camp Level Up, Week 2

with the 2nd week already over I’m already half way done with my time in Arizona, this week was full of excitement getting to interact with all the kids in this first week of camp as well as learn along side them, seeing all the incredible things that they were making was truly incredible. in this next week we have 12 returning campers! witch just means there will be more time to get to know the kids. along with the game development that we did in the main part of the camp we also got to do lots of other cool things that the MIX center has to offer, on Tuesday we did a interactive VR experience called dream scape  witch was so incredible to experience, and then on Wednesday we watched harry potter in the viewing room witch is basically just a movie theatre that we had all to ourselves.

At the end of the week all the kids got to show off what they had made to there parents and some of the stuff that they had completed was truly remarkable. one of the things I worked on this week was a environment in Unreal engine that’s supposed to resemble a forest and I used this project to figure out the mechanics of unreal engine.

Sense I’ve been down here I’ve also met women who’s renting me this Airbnb and her son where they live right next door, her son is also a coder/website designer and has helped me start creating my Dungeons and Dragons website, I’m so lucky to have all these people to learn from all around me.

On Friday night  one of my favorite games, Magic the Gathering was releasing new cards so I went to a local game store to play in an event. it ended up being a ton of fun and I got to meet a lot of interesting people along with get some cool cards.

to finish up this week over the weekend I went and visited a friend who lives in Tucson, he showed me around the area and we had a amazing time. it was really great to see him again. this whole week was full of adventure and I cant wait for the next week of camp to start and see what adventures will come with this week!
