Month of February Zoom Meetings

Hi, I’m Jackson McCabe. I am doing an internship with both the Smithsonian and the Pinhead Institute. In July I will go to Washington, D.C. for one week to help the Smithsonian with their Museums.

We do Zoom calls everyother Tuesday, two hours each call. In February, we had two Zooms. In our first Zoom call, we spent a lot of our time doing icebreakers, learning each other’s names, where we are from, and the hobbies that we have. Once we were done doing icebreakers, we talked about the theme of this year’s museums. We discussed what we thought The Pursuit of Life, Liberty & Happiness meant to us and how it will be portrayed as a theme in this year’s museums. Then we ended by looking at a couple of pictures and were asked to ask questions about these pictures, but make the answers more than a quick answer. If someone had asked a question that is only a one word answer, we as a group would find a way to reask the question to have a more thorough answer.

Our second Zoom call started with twenty minutes or so of more icebreakers than we had a guest speaker talk to us. After the guest speaker, we broke off into small groups and did some exercises on making statements about what we thought was happening in the pictures. Then we ended talking about the pictures as a group.
