I just finished my third week here at the Marine Science center here on Tybee Island. I learned so much this week about all the animals. Because I was not working with the kids this week I had the opportunity to learn so much more than I have in the last two weeks. I was taught all about the different animals we have in the center and their threats and roles in the ecosystem. To start the week I learned about all the different tanks and more about feeding the animals. I even got to do the all the feedings on my own. I have also started to learn lots more about the tanks, how their filtration systems work, and how to maintain them. I also got to handle the animals a lot. I worked with our corn snake, juvenile and adult diamond back Terrapins, and our box tortoises. I even got to help with sea turtle sun bathing. Which we do to give the Sea turtles healthy UV rays and vitamin D. This is very important for the development of their shell  In my free time I have been fishing and hanging out with some friends that I have made here on Tybee. This weekend I have spent in Savannah which has been amazing to explore the big city. I was even able to get some cool prints from an local artist.
