Hello Everyone!

Week 6 has arrived, and so has the end of my intership with the Rainbow Youth Center.

I would love to talk about week 6 and what I did, but considering that it was still prolonged, there isn’t a lot to talk about.

Monday 13th

I had gotten extremely ill, and I wasn’t able to come to work, so I continued reading some case studies, one being Solomon Asch’s Experiments on conformity. These experiments were in the 1950s, which tested about social pressure in majority groups and how they can persuade a person. Asch’s hypothesis was to see how people would give in to peer pressure and completely forget about their knowledge. The experiment follows with pictures of several different lines with different heights. It showed that people would intentionally select the incorrect response.

Wednesday 15th

It was a day when I could use my list of activities, but because of the lack of people and how slow it was, we chose otherwise, but I took the time to say goodbye to a new friend.

Thursday 16th

Last day with my mentors, and I spent the day saying goodbye,

The past few weeks have gotten extremely slow, which was fine, and I have learnt a lot. So, as a final message to my post

Thank you so much, Rainbow Youth Center, for the new knowledge, the relationships, the stories, and the history shared with me. Everyone who works with the Rainbow Youth Center all have different stories and different things about you, making the Rainbow Youth Center a place of safety and diversity. For everything I have learned, the new people I met, and the new experiences you have allowed me. Thank you so much for everything and having me. You made my summer something I will never forget and made me a better person with the new found knowleage you have given me.

Thank you, Kat, Xander, Z, and Beck.

I hope to see you guys in the future

Thank you so much, Sarah

Thank you, Taylor, for hosting me in your home

Thank you to everyone who followed me through this internship

Goodbye

Maya Santa Ana.
