Daan Stevenson grew up in the Netherlands and California, before moving to Colorado for graduate school about a decade ago. He works primarily as a freelance design engineer. Most of his projects involve mechantronics, which means making systems with moving parts. Over the past few years, Daan has designed and built ground stations for drones, rotating ninja warrior obstacle courses, an automated haunted house, and a high tech bed that heats and cools the user on each side to their desired temperature. He currently mentors the First Tech Challenge team, where middle and high school kids get to design and build robots!
