February 25: Sticky, Slimy Science 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Make an ooey, gooey mess by creating different kinds of slime and comparing them! Mix in different colors and see how the slime changes and if it is most like a liquid or a solid. |

March 2: Eggcellent Egg Drop 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Can you drop an egg off the 2nd floor of the library without it breaking? Using different materials, come up with a way to cushion an egg as it falls! |

Check us out! The Pinhead Institute is now offering science on-the-go! Take home cool science experiments created and tested by your local science experts. Want to learn more about the rock formations that surround us? How about understanding more about why snow melts faster when covered with dust? Stop by the Wilkinson Public Library to grab a “Pinhead Pack” to learn more about the science that surrounds you.

Pinhead Pack #2: The Science of Snow
• Books:

• Snow thermometer – test temperature of snow in sun and shade, monitor temperature over the course of a day
• Dark cloth (12” x 12”) – collect snowflakes for study, just like WA Bentley
• Hand held microscope
• Animal Track mold (any) – animals leave behind tracks in the snow that can be followed to discover where they live, what they eat and how they survive. Make your own tracks in the snow and keep your own track cast.
• Plaster of paris
• Tweezers
• Ruler –measuring snow depth
• Shovel – dig a snow pit
• White paper (scissors?) – create your own unique snowflake
