No School Science Project
This program hosted by the Pinhead Institute, in partnership with the Wilkinson Public Library, has the ability to inspire our local students with energy, enthusiasm and expertise in the wondrous world of science. Students will have the opportunity for exposure to new and engaging curricula outside of the classroom as we hope to inspire the next generation of scientific innovators.
Punctuated throughout the school year, this free after school program teach kids about the wonders of slime, how to keep an egg from breaking during a three story fall, why the color spectrum is so spectacular, how to grow glow-in-the-dark crystals, and more!
Come learn how fun (and messy) science can be!

February 28, 2012: Density Divers: Create Your Own Cartesian Creation 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Join Pinhead for excellent experiments in buoyancy. How deep can your diver dive? We will make our own cartesian creations and learn more about how dynamic density can be! |

January 23, 2012: Fascinating Forensics with Peculiar Powders 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Join Pinhead for some super sleuthing and some crime scene investigating. We will determine "who done it" by testing some mysterious powders and looking at fingerprint samples. This lab intensive program will have kids using test tubes, pipettes, and microscope. So, get ready for some CSI fun with your friends at Pinhead. |

December 8, 2011: Winter Wonders: Blizzard in a Bottle 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Join Pinhead for super snow science fun as we use basic chemistry to design our own snowglobes. We will also grow our own cool crystals and learn more about saturated solutions. |

February 25, 2011: Sticky, Slimy Science 3:30 PM Wilkinson Public Library FREE! Make an ooey, gooey mess by creating different kinds of slime and comparing them! Mix in different colors and see how the slime changes and if it is most like a liquid or a solid. |
