Day One: Sunday

Today was my first day in LA and overall I couldn’t be prouder of myself. I have discovered an independence that I didn’t realize I had. I flew into LAX and contacted Supershuttle to get me to my host Vincenzo in the Hollywood Hills. On the way, we took a trip through UCLA and Bel Air, where I was amazed. Vincenzo is one of the nicest Italians I know even though he caught me off guard by kissing me. He gave me the lay of the land and made it so I was comfortable being on my own. I then found the Metro, so I would be able to find my way to work the next coming day.

Day Two: Monday

Today I got in at 11:00 and was given a tour of the Dirty Robber facility. Dirty Robber is an Oscar-nominated production company based in LA and New York. I met Katie, Avrielle and Chris who are all amazing people, and are super intelligent. As well as other interns such as Lauren and Hannah who are really cool. I was given a tour and got the lay of the land. Day one was pretty simple, besides the mountains of paperwork that I had to sign. Day one at the office was pretty self explanatory. I found the beauty in street food trucks.

Day Three: Tuesday

Today was a very fun day at work. A professional photographer came in to take headshots of all the workers. This lasted for about three hours and I was able to help shoot and set up. The experience was great because I got to ask the photographer many personal questions that I wouldn’t be able to ask to just anyone. I also started a project for Laura who is an executive producer here at Dirty Robber. She had me look at all the stills and document them in proper order, including the timecodes, contact info, and copyright claims.

Day Four: Wednesday

Today was a little more low key at work as I finished Laura’s project and submitted it. The rest of the day I completed small tasks around the office, and ran errands for the workers that needed things to be done.

Day Five: Thursday
Was similar to day Four in which I completed many smaller tasks throughout the day. This involved me running out in Little Armenia to pick up supplies for the workers. I also had to go to the storage unit to find a binder. I found a great little restaurant called Square One which has amazing sandwiches and is all completely organic in Little Armenia.

Day Six: Friday

I have been moved to the luxurious bungalow suite down the road. Vincenzo completely hooked me up. In other news, at work Laura gave me all the Appearance Release forms from the last shooting. My job was to organize all the release forms with order of appearance and then put those on a flashdrive. (There were about 250) Then when I was done we submitted them to Nat Geo. for reference.

Day Seven: Saturday

Today I was able to sleep in and then go down to Hollywood Boulevard to go grab some lunch. I found a quaint Mexican food restaurant and had a quick bite to eat. I then proceeded to look at some of the stores around the area as well.

Day Eight: Sunday

Today was laundry day, and helping Vincenzo get things done around the house as well. I went out for a walk to go explore my surroundings a bit and become more familiar with what was in the hills.
