After four amazing weeks at Mystic Seaport it’s finally time to head home. My last week was filled with all kinds of exciting opportunities. I began the week by volunteering around the Museum at the Art Spot, Discovery Barn, and many other exciting exhibits. Additionally I spent one of my days at the Boathouse helping rent different rowboats and sailboats to visitors. Although it was a rather quiet day, it was still fun to be on the water.

I ended my week by returning to my work with ships plans by helping the staff organize and catalog more blueprints and valuable ships plans.

At the end of the week I packed up, said my goodbyes, and headed to New York City to visit my cousin.

Although my time at Mystic seemed to fly by I still managed to absorb a vast amount of knowledge at the Museum. This internship was not only a great chance for me to live on my own and become more independent but it also showed me how amazing Mystic Seaport is, and all of the hard work that goes into making it function.

I got to volunteer for many hours around Mystic Seaport while having the opportunity to meet some amazing people.

I would like to thank once again all of the people who made this internship possible; Sarah, Elysa, Katrina, my roommates Chris and Josh, Mindy, John, and anyone else I forgot to name.

Although my time in Mystic is over for now I would love to return to Mystic Seaport to revisit the amazing Museum, and all of the friends I made along the way.
