I have now learned how to manage the exercise sessions and record the data. So, to begin, a volunteer that is part of the study comes into the lab, puts on a heart rate monitor, and begins walking on a treadmill or an elliptical machine .

There’s a low intensity group and a moderate intensity group. This, along with the previous Graded Exercise Test, allows us to know where their heart rate needs to be. With the information about the volunteer and their personal heart rate, we ask the volunteer their Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) and take their heart rate every five minutes throughout a thirty minute exercise session.

To keep their heart rate where it’s supposed to be, we adjust the speed and/or grade of the treadmill.

Do you think there is a strong genetic component to those with serious mental disorders such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar? What do the research studies indicate as a possible cause for Autism and the different types of Asperger’s? And what about those vaccinations? Do you think we should receive them and how important do you think they are?
